Kapitaal is a creative workspace in the centre of Utrecht city, the Netherlands. All kinds of creatives come to Kapitaal to work with silkscreen printing, etching and Risograph printing.
Kapitaal offers a broad range of workshops to introduce the world to printing techniques and graphical design. And they offer more: work spaces for freelancers, inspirational events, ping pong, exhibitions and a shop filled with specialized craft material. Kapitaal has everything you need to create and present beautiful graphical work, and to get inspired.
Early in 2016, Kapitaal collaborated with designer Noortje de Keijzer on a brand new look. Taking a cue from the colourful prints created at Kapitaal, an interior with colour blocks and lines was developed to reflect the printing techniques. On top of that, type-shaped shelving showcases crafting products and a rainbow of silkscreening ink tubs is displayed like crafty sauce in a converted display fridge. Details such as the wooden letterblocks for the announcement wall or the upholstery for the benches were printed in-house.
It’s like 2D-print has come to life!
